Aerospace
UCNDE is based in the Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics department, and aerospace applications are a major area of research. Research includes in-situ inspection, ex-situ inspection and structural health monitoring. We have worked with GE, Rolls-Royce, Boeing, the Air Force Research Laboratory and the Federal Aviation Administration.

Power Generation
Our research covers both conventional and nuclear power generation. In particular we have research interests in high temperature monitoring systems and material characterization strategies to monitor microstructural degradation. We have worked with The Department of Energy, Nuclear Energy University Program, The Electrical Power Research Institute, as well as asset owners.
